From 1998 to 2001, physicians Mark Cohen and Avi Wallerstein worked as medical directors at Lasik Vision Corporation, once the largest laser vision company in the world mainly due to the relatively affordable services it provided to the public.
Foundation

Lasik Vision Corporation filed for bankruptcy in 2001, so Cohen and Wallerstein acquired Lasik Vision clinics and implemented the same affordable-pricing model that the company used. The clinic in Montreal became the nucleus of the new enterprise, Lasik MD.
