Roasted cashews are a healthy and tasty snack that provide many nutritional benefits. Including roasted nuts in a healthy diet is a good way to get some protein, good fats, vitamins and minerals.

  1. Serving Size and Calories

    • One serving of cashews is one ounce, about 18 nuts. A single serving contains 161 calories.

    Fats

    • One ounce of cashews contains 13 grams of fat, but much of the fat is made up of heart-healthy varieties. One serving has 7.6 grams of monounsaturated fat, 2.2 grams of polyunsaturated fat and 45 milligrams of omega-3 fatty acids.

    Macronutrients

    • Cashews contain 9 grams of carbohydrates and 4 grams of protein per serving. They also have 1 gram of fiber.

    Micronutrients

    • Roasted cashews are a good source of iron, magnesium, copper, vitamin K, folate, choline, phosphorous, potassium, zinc, selenium and manganese. They are considered a low sodium food.

    Warnings

    • The style of preparing roasted cashews affects their nutritional value. Oil-roasted and salted nuts are higher in sodium and may contain trans-fats. Dry-roasted cashews are healthier. People with nut allergies should avoid all styles of roasted cashews.
