Difference Between Green Tea & Coffee
Whether you choose green tea or coffee, there are plenty of benefits from drinking either beverage or both. The differences lie in their cost and in how they are produced for market and prepared. Does this Spark an idea?

Americans get most of their antioxidants from coffee. Pound for pound, coffee is more expensive than green tea. Despite the cost, coffee is the top source of antioxidants in the American diet, according to University of Scranton chemistry professor Dr. Joe Vinson.

Green tea may not cause stomach upset like coffee might. Green tea has more overall health benefits than coffee but, unlike coffee, it has no potential side effects such as stomach upset. University of Michigan researcher Dr. Salah Ahmed says, "Green tea can inhibit the progress of disease."

Green tea is ready to drink after drying. Green tea is ready to use after drying picked tea leaves. Coffee must be dried, roasted and ground in a relatively long and expensive process before it is ready to drink.
Preparation

A machine is a must for coffee but not tea. Coffee requires a grinder and coffeemaker to enjoy as a beverage. Green tea requires just a simple teapot and hot water to steep the tea before drinking.
Consumption

More people drink tea than coffee worldwide. Which beverage consumers prefer depends mostly on where they live. In the Western world, the United States is the world's largest coffee consumer, while China drinks the most green tea among all Asian countries.
