Medium and long hairstyles are often layered to increase body and style.

Layers add body and style to medium and long-hair lengths. There are several types of hairstyles that include layers. Each results in a different look. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Layered Bob

    • The layered bob is similar to the classic, one-length bob haircut except for the layers. Light layers are added to give this style a little bit of body and excitement.

    Inverted Stack

    • The inverted stack adds layers to the back of the hair in order to make the hair appear shorter and lighter in the back. This style is full in the back and long in the front.

    Shag

    • The shag is a classic. This haircut is full of layers and movement. The layers are usually no more than 5 inches long, resulting in a lot of texture and bounce.

    Scene

    • The scene haircut is popular among young people. It is heavily razored and textured, bouffant in the crown and sleek around the edges.

    Long Layers

    • Long layers are used to add body to extremely long hair. Long layers add bounce and interest without thinning out the length of the hair.
