The Chevrolet Colorado is a mid-size truck built by General Motors. The Colorado shares its major components with another GM vehicle, the GMC Canyon. The Colorado's main competitors are the Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger and Nissan Frontier.

History

The Chevrolet Colorado was introduced for the 2004 model-year. It replaced Chevrolet's long-running S-10 pickup, which had been manufactured since 1982.

Powertrain

The Colorado's base engine is a 2.9L four cylinder, which produces 185 horsepower. Two options are available: a 3.7L inline five-cylinder engine (242 horsepower) and a 5.3L V8 engine (300 horsepower).

Body Styles

The Colorado is available in several body styles. The standard configuration is a single cab, but an extended cab and crew cab body style are also available.
