Can You Use Rock Band Equipment on Guitar Hero World Tour?

Guitar Hero World Tour was the first game in the series to include the use of drums and microphones. If you also own Rock Band, you may be wondering about compatibility between the various console versions of the games' controllers. Here is an easy guide for each console.

Note on compatibility

Instrument controllers are only compatible if they are for the same console. For example, controllers for the Xbox 360 will not work with the PS3 version and vice versa.

Xbox 360

All Rock Band and Guitar Hero instruments designed for the Xbox 360 will work with this version. The only exception is the third-party Ion Drum Rocker.

PlayStation 3

Again, all of the instruments for Rock Band and Guitar Hero games on the PS3 will work with World Tour except for the Ion Drum Rocker.

PlayStation 2

The guitar controllers for Rock Band and Rock Band 2 will not work with this version of Guitar Hero, but the drums will.

Wii

Only Guitar Hero controllers will work with this version of Guitar Hero World Tour. All Rock Band controllers are incompatible.
