Difference Between XBox 360 Arcade & Pro

As of 2009, Microsoft offers its popular Xbox 360 console in two standard bundles: the Xbox 360 Arcade and the Xbox 360 Elite. The Xbox 360 Pro is no longer sold in retail stores.

  1. Cost

    • The Xbox 360 Arcade costs significantly less. As of December 2009, the Arcade package costs $199.99, and the Elite package retails for $299.99

    Headset

    • The Xbox 360 Arcade does not include a gaming headset, which is required to communicate with other players in online games. The Xbox 360 Elite does come with a headset.

    Capacity

    • The Xbox 360 Arcade does not include a high-capacity hard drive for storing data. The Xbox 360 Elite comes standard with a 120 gigabyte hard drive for storing data, movies, music and game information.

    Compatibility

    • The Xbox 360 Arcade and the Xbox 360 Elite are capable of playing all Xbox 360 games. The Xbox 360 Elite is backwards-compatible with the original Xbox and supports more than 300 games from that system.
