Definition of Group Inclusive Tours

Travelers and tourists have a wide range of tour packages that they can purchase. Group inclusive tours are one type of tour package.

Group Inclusive Tours

Tour operators organize Group inclusive tours (GIT) for groups of people with a common affiliation. The participants may be part of the same organization or club, such as the American Automobile Association, or not.

Compared to Escorted Tours

A GIT does not necessarily require an escort or tour guide.

Compared to Special-Interest Tours

The participants in a GIT do not have a common reason for participating in the tour, as travelers do on special-interest tours. A tourist in a GIT travels in a group in order to save money by purchasing aspects of the tour in bulk.

Hotel Choice

Participants on a GIT may have different options of hotels or room options at a particular resort. Self-catering is also possible. The range of options is usually reflected in the price.

Inclusive Tours

Inclusive tours, including the GIT, generally are put together by a tour organizer who packages together travel, accommodation and other services, such as insurance, meals, and sightseeing. The cost of purchasing the package is cheaper for the tourist than the cost to purchase each component separately.
