HVAC is an acronym for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, each of which is used to control temperature and comfort within an indoor environment. An HVAC service technician is a skilled tradesman who installs and repairs these functions.

Troubleshooting

When an HVAC system malfunctions, a service technician diagnoses the problem, making repairs through the use a variety of methods, including the replacement of worn parts or installing oil, gas or other types of fuel.

It is quite common for HVAC service technicians to be charged with selling service contracts to new and existing clients, which designates this professional and/or his employer sole technician responsible for the maintenance of a system.
Education Required
