Definition of Fast Track GED

Life's demands can make returning to school difficult, but resuming classes and ultimately, graduating can supply an individual with new skills and the ability to utilize new opportunities for employment advancement. All fifty states feature a faster way to prepare and test for the GED; the program is called "Fast Track."

Good Reading Ability a Necessity

Ideal applicants for Fast Track are those with good reading skills. Some states define this as having a 10th-grade reading level or above.

The TABE Test

All GED students take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) to help determine their strengths and weaknesses in core areas of study. Fast Track students only study what they need to improve, often just two areas: English and math.

Time Out of School

The Fast Track GED program welcomes students of all ages. However, those who recently left school have the distinct advantage of possessing many of the necessary skills to do well in Fast Track.

Fast Track GED demands commitment. Missing classes is not an option as time is of the essence and instruction is intense. While the preparation is rigorous, the result is worth it: you can earn your GED in record time.

Local Programs

Local programs may differ as far as qualifications and length of time for Fast Track are concerned, but all programs have the same goal: to help students get the best possible GED scores in the fastest time possible, which is usually three months or less.
