Salicylic acid is a medication that is used to chemically exfoliate the skin, which makes it useful for treating skin conditions such as acne and dandruff.     • Overuse of salicylic acid can cause poisoning. Signs of potential salicylic acid poisoning are dizziness, confusion, fast breathing, diarrhea, headaches, ringing in the ears, vomiting or weakness. If you experience any of these symptoms, you should contact your doctor immediately.

    • Always cover up and wear sunblock when out in the sun. Sunburn is not only painful and uncomfortable, but it can lead to serious health problems if not cared for properly.
