Drying Lavender

Harvest the plants in late summer, early autumn. The process of drying can be managed by tying the harvested herbs, and wrapping them in cotton string. Hang your bundles in the sun to fully dehydrate the leaves and stalks.

tea cookies with lavender The leaves can be removed from the stalk after drying and stored in an air tight container. The flavor of lavender will vary by variety.
Infusions

Kitchen or Bath Choose your favorite body/bath oil and place a dried stem of lavender in the bottle. Lavender scented oil is ready to use after two to three weeks.
Aromatherapy

Dried lavender can be placed in a mesh sachet for use in the dryer, or stored in closets, dressers or drawers.
