Lavender Oil and Pain
Lavender essential oil can be added to massage oils to add aromatherapy effects of calming and relaxation. Pain management with lavender oil massage helps to relax the body so that it can begin to heal the area affected by pain or injury.

Lavender oil is appropriate for all ages. Lavender oil is safe for children and infants. It is one of the most gentle and versatile of all the aromatherapy herbs.
Anti-Inflammatory

Pain from inflammation is relieved with lavender oil in the bath water, or by applying with massage.

Sunburns

Sunburns can be helped with lavender oil. Directly applying lavender oil to skin after over-exposure to the sun can reduce redness and inflammation.
Emotional Effects

Lavender oil calms and soothes the nervous system. Lavender oil has been used to promote sleep because it has a sedative effect. Chronic pain often interferes with regular sleep.
Antibiotic

Lavender oil can be used to treat pain associated with the flu, or other cold viruses. Application of lavender oil with a chest rub, creams or compresses helps to promote rest while healing.
