Vaniqa, Aveeno Positively Smooth and GiGi Slow Grow are a few of the facial hair minimizing lotions on the market. While GiGi and Aveeno Positively Smooth are both widely available at beauty supplies or other mass market retailers, Vaniqa requires a prescription to obtain. Either a bottle of Aveeno Positively Smooth or a bottle of GiGi can cost around $10, and Vaniqa can cost up to $50 depending on your prescription coverage.

Aveeno Positively Smooth also has a body moisturizer that is widely available at most mass market retail stores such as Target. This lotion and others like it can be used on the body and are designed to minimize hair growth, especially in areas such as the legs. Most body hair minimizing lotions cost less than $15.

These hair minimizing lotions are designed to work within a month or two. According to the Vaniqa website, you can expect to see hair reduction in four to eight weeks. Aveeno claims that their hair minimizing products will give results within four weeks.

Keep in mind, though, that these products only work while you are using them. If you discontinue use, expect your hair to return to its original state.
