JCPenney Afterschool Fund

The JCPenney Afterschool Fund offers grant funding to day care centers that have an after school program serving the needs of school-age children in the hours immediately following the school day. To apply, send a letter describing the program that you're applying for grant funding for. This foundation wants all correspondence to go through regular postal mail.

Rosie's For All Kids Foundation

The Rosie's For All Kids Foundation funds child care centers across the country. To qualify, the center must serve children birth to age 6, and 65 percent of the children must be low income. To apply, begin by sending a letter of introduction telling the foundation about the day care center.

What Happens After Sending A Letter

After you send a letter to a foundation, you'll get a response either asking you to continue in the application process or informing you that your organization isn't eligible for funding. A continued application means you'll have to submit a full proposal. A proposal is a full disclosure about your project. Cover the following aspects in your full proposal: organization history, program information, goals of the program and budget.
