Medieval Sources of History
Modern books written about Medieval Europe can be found in any library or general bookstore, but actual books and documents written during the Middle Ages are harder to locate. Fortunately, many of these primary sources can now be found online.

The Internet Medieval Sourcebook is an online database of primary source material maintained by Fordham University. Material from all across Europe can be found here.

Online Medieval Sources Bibliography

Fordham University also maintains this bibliography. It allows you to search for documents by author, period, and country. Although it is more of a tool to identify works of interest, some of the results do come with links that allow readers to find and view documents online.

The Labyrinth

Georgetown University maintains The Labyrinth, a collection of resources for medieval study, and provides links to many sites where medieval sources can be found. Some of the links are to pages maintained by European universities, which provide the material in its original language, whereas others provide material in English translation.
