What Are the Nine Fruits of the Spirit?
The nine fruits of the Holy Spirit are the qualities that should be a part of every believer in Christ. This fruit is talked about in the Bible in Galatians 5. "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." These spiritual fruits are only produced in believers by the Holy Spirit.

Gentleness is not weakness; it's about keeping your cool in heated situations and trying to resolve the problem in a mature manner. This relates to the final spiritual fruit, self-control. For example, when your children scream and throw tantrums, you practice self-control by not calling them abusive names.

In order to have the nine spiritual fruits, a person must first trust Christ alone for his eternal salvation. When this happens, the person receives the Holy Spirit and begins the lifelong process of sanctification, which is performed by the Holy Spirit. The person will then notice a change in his life.
