What Are Adrenal Symptoms?
The primary function of the adrenal glands is to help the body deal with every type of stress by secreting hormones.
-
Risk Factors
-
Symptoms of adrenal fatigue occur when the adrenals become exhausted, often due to factors like chronic stress, excessive consumption of caffeine, sugar, alcohol or tobacco, exposure to chemical pollutants, lack of fresh air, inadequate sleep, poor diet and nutritional deficiencies.
Blood Pressure
-
When adrenal function is low, blood pressure drops when standing up from a lying position which may cause a person to feel dizzy or lightheaded.
-
Energy Levels
-
People suffering from adrenal fatigue often don't feel awake until 10 a.m., experience a low energy period between 3 and 4 p.m., and tend to feel better after the evening meal. They may also experience lethargy, difficulty completing normal tasks, low sex drive and tiredness that isn't relieved with sleep.
Immune Function
-
Adrenal overload eventually results in weakened immune function, which makes the body prone to infections and illness and longer healing times.
Signs & Symptoms
-
Common signs of adrenal fatigue are poor memory, difficulty concentrating, salt cravings, feeling lightheaded when standing up quickly, increased PMS (in women), being unable to tolerate stress, depression and anxiety.
