Grants for Charity Health Care Clinics
Many charity health clinics in the United States are eligible to apply for grants to fund the organization. Charity health clinics serve the public, especially those from low-income families and the uninsured, and are therefore often supported by government institutions.

Local and State Governments
-
Check your city, county and state government websites to learn about and apply for grants for your charity health clinic. For example, the District of Columbia offers grants (opgd.dc.gov/opgd) for clinics that offer substance abuse and HIV/AIDS treatment. Search for grants in your particular the health area. Each local government grants office varies, but you're most likely to find health-related grants in the human services agency of the government.
Federal Government
-
Grants.gov is a comprehensive site for finding health grants. Go to Browse by Category on the left side of the page. Then select Health and sort by agency. Click on a grant title to determine your eligibility.

Foundations
-
Visit the Foundation Directory Online (fconline.foundationcenter.org) to search for foundations that give grants for health. For advanced searches, you need a paid subscription. Once on the site, you can use the categorical search function to find health related grantmakers. View the profile in the directory and visit the website of prospective foundations to determine your eligibility.
Grantmaker Group and Other Clinics
-
Visit Grantmakers in Health, an organization that focuses on health issues with a list of foundations that have identified themselves as grantmakers in health. While these groups don't give out grants, they do provide an array of information and discuss current issues of concern to grantmakers. You'll want to be abreast of these developments. Explore the site and go to the websites of the members to see which grants you qualify for. You can also visit other health clinics in your community to see who their donors are and approach the same funders.
Corporations and Businesses
-
Large corporations, especially pharmaceutical and health care companies, offer grants to fund health clinics due to corporate social responsibility, which will align with their company's brand and image. Approach local businesses to inquire about these opportunities. They have a stake in maintaining a good reputation in your community.
