Women have a variety of reasons for choosing to have fake nails. Some enjoy being pampered and the style of fake nails, while others want to improve the look of their nails due to biting or brittle nails. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Acrylic Nails

    • Acrylic nails are the most common type of fake nails. They are made using an artificial nail tip with acrylic nail liquid and powder to shape it. An acrylic nail is thicker than a real nail and can develop a yellow discoloration after a couple of weeks.

    Solar Nails

    • Solar nails are similar to acrylic but use a different material that is more like a natural nail. They last longer, are more durable, and do not turn yellow like acrylic nails.

    Gel Nails

    • Gel nails are done using an ultra-violet light. They are more natural looking and have a high-gloss appearance to them.

    Precautions

    • Taking precautions when choosing a nail salon will help to prevent nail infections. Women should choose a licensed salon and ensure the technician is licensed. Verifying that tools are sterilized will also help to prevent nail infections.

    Damage

    • Some women will experience a discoloration of their nails or notice their nails are coarse. On a rare occasion, a woman will have an allergic reaction to the materials used for fake nails.
