Joint pain affects people of all ages.

Living with joint pain can be tough, making it nearly impossible for someone to go about his normal daily routine. According to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, food can be a contributing factor in joint pain. Here are some examples of offending foods.

  1. Dairy

    • Milk can be a problem for someone with joint pain.

      The protein in dairy products can cause joint pain. Consuming any form of dairy protein will cause problems for a person suffering from this type of pain. Switching to skim products will not help. Finding dairy alternatives is important.

    Meat

    • Try organic red meat alternatives.

      Red meats will trigger joint inflammation. Meat from animals fed a corn diet, antibiotics or hormones should be avoided. Look into organically raised alternatives, or simply give up red meat.

      Sugars can also affect joint health. Looking for a sugar substitute may be helpful. Eliminate as much sugar from the diet as is possible.
