Treatment of a ringworm infection is easy. Just about any ointment that contains miconazole or thiabendazole will clear up the infection.

Over-the-counter ointments used to treat vaginal infections and athlete's foot can be used on ringworm. Monistat-7 is a vaginal cream that contains miconazole and is effective against ringworm. In addition, creams such as Lotrimin-Af have a high success rate in the treatment of ringworm.
