Obagi Rosacea Treatment

Obagi Rosaclear is a line of skin care products developed to address the symptoms of rosacea, including redness, flushing and pimples.

Rosacea

Rosacea cannot be cured, but it is possible to treat and manage with the help of a physician or dermatologist.

Treatment

The Rosaclear line includes Gentle Cleanser, which is mild and will not further irritate skin; Metronidazole Topical Gel USP, 0.75%, which heals the redness and bumps; Hydrating Complexion Corrector to help skin appear less irritated; and Skin Balancing Sun Protection SPF 30 because sun exposure can exacerbate rosacea.

Considerations

Rosacea is a chronic condition that can progress and cause permanent changes in the skin that can only be improved with surgery or lasers, according to the National Rosacea Society.

Diagnosis

See a dermatologist (or physician familiar with skin conditions) for an accurate diagnosis. Incorrect self-diagnosis can enable the condition you do have to progress untreated.

Potential

Initial use of products from the Obagi Rosaclear line can relieve the discomfort caused by rosacea, and continued use may reduce the severity and frequency of flare-ups.
