A follow-up visit is recommended four to six weeks after the initial procedure to see if additional pigment needs to be tattooed.

    • An infection from the procedure or allergic reaction to the tattoo ink can occur around the eye after receiving permanent eyeliner makeup.

    Considerations

    Regulation

    • According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, local and state regulations govern tattoo and permanent makeup practices.
