    • Minoxidil is applied to the scalp in the form of liquid or foam. Hair growth typically occurs after several months of use and continues as long as it is used. Though side effects of monoxidil use are rare, there are a number of possible adverse reactions.

    Common Side Effects

    Rare Side Effects

    • There a number of rare and potentially dangerous side effects associated with monoxidil, including blurred vision or other changes in vision, dizziness, fainting, lightheadedness, fast or irregular heartbeat, chest pain, headache, rapid weight gain, swelling of hands, feet or lower legs, and numbness of hands, feet, or face. Men and women using monoxidil should immediately seek medical attention when experiencing any of these side effects.
