Identification
Features
-
Shark cartilage is rich in mucopolysaccharides and carbohydrates, which are immune system boosters. It also contains plentiful amino acids, protein, calcium, and phosphorous ,which are beneficial for joint health.
-
Effects
-
Many arthritic dogs show improvements when on shark cartilage. The calcium and nutrients found in shark cartilage help repair damaged joints and reduce the pain and inflammation associated with joint disease. Its immune system boosters promote healing as well, making it an ideal supplement for dogs suffering from painful osteoarthritis.
Time Frame
-
Shark cartilage is not a miracle cure, therefore it does not work overnight. Rather, it could take two to four weeks before signs of improvement may be noticed.
Warning
-
As with any supplement, it is best to use caution and consult with a veterinarian. Dogs that are pregnant or lactating, or a dog that suffers from a heart condition or any other health issue, should not be given shark cartilage without a veterinarian's input.
