Victorian flower arrangements can still be seen today in many flower shops and at events and gatherings. The elegant and elaborate designs used color and shape to it's fullest capacity.

Nosegay

  • A nosegay Victorian flower arrangements was triangular shaped and used roses, baby's breath, hydrangeas, and pansies. There were also long leafy stems added, with a lace doily and colorful ribbons.

  • A main feature of Victorian flower arrangements is that there are numerous flowers bunched together. The arrangements are full with bright, contrasting colors and express the abundance of the Victorian era and the upper class.

Types

  • The types of flowers used for Victorian flower arrangements always have roses, as well as tulips, carnations, cockscomb, lilies, daisies and peonies. Fruit may be added to the arrangement also, mainly because the flowers are cut from the garden that are being used.

Containers

  • If you are creating a Victorian flower arrangement in a container, such as a vase or basket, the container is ornate and elegant as well. But, should not draw more attention than the flowers do.
