What Is Software Quality Assurance Training Certification?

Certification Need

As the IT industry continues to grow in size and sophistication, management's ability to baseline and evaluate current and future staff grows. The certification process provides a base level of knowledge and practice of software quality assurance.

Classifications

There are several levels of quality certification, ranging from Certified Associate in Software Quality (CASQ) to more advanced certifications for Business Analysts and Engineers.

Prerequisites

To be considered for the examination process, a candidate must fulfill one of the following criteria: possess a three- or four-year college degree from an accredited institution, OR a two-year degree and one year of IT services experience, OR three or more years of experience in the field of information services.

Examination Preparation

Applicants should possess broad understanding of information contained in the Associate in Software Quality Assurance Common Body of Knowledge (CBOK). This publication is provided when the application fee of $200 has been paid.

Examination Process

Administered through Prometric Testing Centers, the examination lasts approximately 90 minutes and a passing grade of 75 percent is required. The examination consists of multiple choice questions designed to test general knowledge of the CBOK skill areas.
