Uses for Pine-Sol Cleaning Solution

Pine-Sol cleaning solution is a multipurpose cleaner and disinfectant for general household use. Popular as a floor cleaner and disinfectant, Pine-Sol is also used to brighten laundry and clean hard surfaces, and it is known for it's fresh pine scent. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. History

    • Pine-Sol cleaning solution was invented in 1929 by Harry Cole, a chemist living in the southern pine forests near Jackson, Mississippi. He saw a ready market for the locally produced pine oil due to its excellent cleaning properties.

    Features

    • Pine-Sol is 15 percent pine oil, a natural cleaner and disinfectant. Pine oil is also an effective oil and grease remover, and it will not harm septic systems, with recommended usage.

    Function

    • Pine-Sol is an EPA-registered disinfectant when used full strength. On nonporous hard surfaces, it kills common household bacteria and dissolves grease.

    Types

    • Pine-Sol cleaner is available in the original pine scent as well as a line of scented varieties such as Lemon Fresh and Mountain Energy.

    Warning

    • Do not use on waxed, unsealed or worn flooring, and do not allow to sit or puddle on wood surfaces.
