Difference Between Boxing & Kickboxing
Both boxing and kickboxing are combat sports. Boxing uses just hands, but kickboxing also uses the feet and can include knees and elbows. Both sports have become popular as noncontact exercise classes.

Both are considered combat sports. Boxing uses only the hands. Kickboxing uses hands, feet and, depending on the style, knees and elbows as well.
Types

Boxing comes in just one type, although it is sometimes referred to as Western boxing or pugilism. There are three main types of kickboxing: American, International and Muay Thai. American only allows kick and punches above the waist. International allows for kicks to the thighs. Muay Thai allows for kicks to the thighs, knee and elbow strikes, and clinching.

Boxing has a long history. The first recorded account is actually found in the Iliad. Kickboxing, as we think of it today, was invented around 1950 and came out of karate.
Geography

Boxing came to prominence in western Europe, where the first rules were added for safety and legitimizing the sport. Kickboxing grew out of Japan and Thailand.
