What Is the File Extension .MF?

Java is a type of computer programming language used primarily to power applications or animations on websites. A number of files are associated with Java, including .mf files.

  1. Background

    • Files for Java-based programs are often saved as .jar files, a collection of smaller files that contain instructions that your computer uses to run Java-based programs.

    Identification

    • A .mf file is known as a Java Manifest file. For each .jar file saved on your computer, there is normally one .mf file also saved.
