Vinegar is an acidic liquid obtained by fermentation. It was discovered approximately 10,000 years ago and remains popular today. Its versatility makes it a staple in most households, but some people remain unaware of the many health benefits associated with this product.

    • The most common types of vinegar are Balsamic, rice, white and apple cider. While the other three have multiple uses, apple cider vinegar is best known for its medicinal qualities. It has become one of the most popular alternative health remedies.

    • Many people drink a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, diluted in a glass of water, once or twice a day to aid in weight loss and other health-related issues, including arthritis. It is said to be a natural way to lower bad cholesterol and can be used to help lower blood pressure.

    Other Healthy Benefits

    • A bath of apple cider vinegar can help to reduce the effects of sunburn. Many women use a douche of it as a natural remedy for yeast infections. It also aids in digestion and helps to neutralize harmful substances in food when taken as a drink before meals.

    • Apple cider vinegar provides the body with a source of potassium, which is essential to normal body growth. Numerous other conditions such as allergies, hiccups, insomnia, headaches and hair loss are said to have been helped by drinking diluted apple cider vinegar on a daily basis.
