Reishi mushrooms have been used since ancient times as a nutritional supplement and to heal a variety of ailments. Used in traditional Chinese medicine, the Reishi mushroom was known as the "Emperor's Herb", and was said to "bring the dying back to life" by healing the life force known as qi. Dried Reishi mushrooms are added to boiling water, simmered for 2 to 3 hours and strained to produce a tea.

    • Reishi tea restores the body's balance and can be taken for long periods of time without ill effects. Reishi tea combined with green tea is believed to inhibit the growth of tumors.

    • Reishi tea can be used to alleviate the pain and swelling caused by arthritis, back pain, headache and stomach ache. It is also used to good effect by individuals suffering from heart disease and high blood pressure.
