      Coping skills are another treatment to battling irritability caused by depression. Some examples of coping skills are exercise, writing in a journal or other hobbies that cause enjoyment. If previous coping mechanims are no longer appealing, it does not hurt to try something new.

      One misconception about irritability and depression is that it is untreatable. Depression and all of its symptoms can be treated. Although irritability and depression can last a long time, it can last longer untreated.
