Tylenol Arthritis Pain Controlled-Release Tablets and Tylenol Arthritis Caplet contain no active drugs other than acetaminophen. The risks and benefits of Tylenol Arthritis are the same as for regular Tylenol.

Risks of Tylenol Arthritis

Tylenol increases the risk of bleeding, especially when taken with other anticoagulates. Some people are allergic to the drug. The specific risks of Tylenol during pregnancy are thought to be near non-existent--it does not cause miscarriage, birth defects, or other known problems--except with overdose. Tylenol and Tylenol Arthritis do pass through breast milk.
Benefits of Tylenol Arthritis

There is strong evidence that a pain-free, unstressed mother will give birth to a child who is healthier than will a mother who is stressed and in pain her entire pregnancy. Acetaminophen is considered safe for pregnancy. If Tylenol is the best or only way to find relief from arthritis, that benefit might be worth the risks of side effects or possible injury to the fetus.
