Rules of Etiquette in Pool Halls
Poor pool hall etiquette can result in pool hall patrons being banned from their favorite establishment indefinitely. Fortunately, proper pool hall etiquette only requires a little bit of common sense and courtesy on the player's part.
-
Food/Beverages
-
Pool hall patrons should refrain from placing beverages or food on the actual pool table. Using a table will prevent any accidental spills from happening.
Respect the Equipment
-
Pool hall patrons that are using house cues should use them responsibly. Throwing a cue down on the table in frustration after a bad shot can damage the cue and the table felt.
-
Stance
-
Pool hall patrons should avoid sitting on the pool table to make a shot at all costs. If faced with a tricky shot, a rake should be used instead of placing unnecessary weight on the table.
Chalking Up
-
Pool cue tips do not need to be chalked up after every shot. Overusing chalk causes unnecessary marks on the felt.
Clean Up
-
Any house equipment should be returned and trash should be disposed of so that the next patrons playing at the pool table can start their game without delay.
