Powertrain
-
The Traverse is only available with one engine: a 3.6L V6 with VVT (Variable Valve Timing). The engine is identical to other GM crossovers, except it utilizes direct-injection technology, which improves its horsepower from 275 to 281. A six-speed automatic transmission complements the engine.
Fuel Efficiency
-
The Traverse achieves 17mpg in the city and 24mpg on the highway. The highway rating is two mpg higher than other GM crossovers, primarily due its direct injection feature, which improves performance and fuel economy.

Dimensions
-
The Traverse is 205 inches long, making it GM's second-longest SUV behind the Chevrolet Suburban. It's 78.4 inches wide, 72.8 inches tall and its wheelbase spans 116 inches.
Features
-
The Traverse is feature-rich. Standard features include OnStar, Keyless Remote, CD player, traction control and six airbags. Notable optional features include a sunroof, DVD Player, Bluetooth capability and heated-leather seating.
