If you love the water, and prefer exercising regularly in the swimming pool, you will be relieved that you can purchase most supplemental equipment at a neighborhood sporting goods store.

  1. Weights

    • Swimmers can purchase a variety of aquatic bar bells and ankle weights to assist in strength training during water aerobics.

    Kicking Devices

    • Exercisers may consider buying a kickboard to incorporate focusing on the legs and kicking into their routine. If they wish to practice vigorous kicking, they should invest in some fins, which help swimmers kick faster, without overtiring the muscles.

    Resistance Training

    • Swimmers often choose to improve their resistance by completing their exercises with a medium or heavy resistance band, which will increase strength in their arms and legs.

    Swim Noodles

    • Though harder to purchase off-season, swim noodles are used in so many different ways in the pool. Swimmers may curve one around them for balance while they float and work on their core exercises. They may also use them in place of bar bells to strengthen the arms.

    Face Gear

    • Some swimmers, if they are going to swim several laps under water, will invest in a pair of goggles to protect their eyes from the chlorine, as well as a swimming cap.
