The Nintendo DS was introduced to the marketplace in 2004. Two years later, Nintendo updated the popular game console, releasing Nintendo DS Lite. While both consoles play the same games, they have several differences.

    Size

  1. The Nintendo DS Lite is smaller than the Nintendo DS, making it easier to hold while playing and also easier to transport.
  2. Weight

  3. The Nintendo DS Lite weights 20 percent less than the Nintendo DS.
  4. Brightness

  5. The Nintendo DS Lite has an LCD screen, which allows it to offer four different brightness levels, the highest of which is five times as bright as the screen on the Nintendo DS.
  6. Colors

  7. Unlike the original DS, the DS Lite comes in a variety of colors: examples include "ice blue," "crystal white" and "enamel navy."
  8. Battery

  9. The DS Lite has a shorter recharge time and the battery also lasts longer than the one found in the Nintendo DS once it has been fully charged.
