Molds are types of fungi that grow both inside and outside. Mold can come in many colors, but is often referred to as black mold. Mold can cause a wide variety of negative health effects.

Molds thrive in damp, warm, and humid environments. Mold is typically found in basements and showers, where humidity is high; outside, mold is often present in shaded, damp areas.

Mold can cause an immune system reaction, leading to an allergic response. This can cause a runny nose, itchy eyes, sneezing, coughing, asthma, or sinusitis.
