Steam Clean Vs. Dry Foam
When cleaning carpets, there are different ways to have them cleaned. Two of the most common ways to clean them are through steam cleaning and dry-foam cleaning; however, it is up to debate as to which is better. It all really depends on what you are cleaning. Does this Spark an idea?

Steam Cleaning
-
When carpet is steam cleaned, it is actually a wet cleaning. Water is mixed with detergents and applied directly to the carpet. The amount of steam coming out of the machine when it is being applied is the reason why it is called steam cleaning.
Dry Foam
-
When using a dry-foam method, the machine takes a cleaning solution that turns into foam and injects this directly in to the carpet. This traps the dirt and any other soil in the carpet, then a scrub brush and vacuum are used to take up the dirt and foam.

Considerations
-
When choosing the best method for cleaning carpet, whether it is steam or dry, look at what type of dirt or soils are in it. One method is better for getting up grease, but the other is better at getting up looser dirt.
Time Frame
-
Each method takes time; however, steam cleaning takes longer than dry cleaning because of the water that is used. The carpet must be dry before walking on it.
Prevention/Solution
-
To have the best cleaning, hire a known operator and ask questions. This will prevent from having the carpet cleaned too soon in the future. Having a reputable operator who can recommend the best method for the carpet, either dry or steam, will assure the quality of the carpet lasts its lifetime.
