Siding for your home is available in several types, including aluminum, vinyl and cement fiber. If you have siding on your home there are some disadvantages that you will have to deal with.

    Dents

  1. A home that has aluminum siding will dent very easily even if a small object thrown against it. Too many dings in aluminum siding it can make it an eyesore.
  2. Peeling Paint

  3. Some siding types have enamel which is baked on and it can peel off of the siding and expose the bare metal.
  4. Brittle

  5. If you have vinyl siding it can become very brittle and rigid during the colder seasons. In this frozen state it has a better chance of cracking or breaking apart.
  6. Color

  7. Some types of siding can become dull and dirty, but they should not be painted because it will have an adverse affect on the surface. Once you put siding on your home you are not able to change the color.
  8. Replacement Pieces

  9. When your siding becomes damaged after having been on the house many years, you may find it nearly impossible to find an exact match in terms of color and type.
