Herbs and spices are a part of many cultures for many different recipes. Many people use them for various conditions such as arthritis, pain and heart problems. It is quite popular to see herbs and spices in many high-quality dog foods since herbs that can help people can many times benefit dogs.

To figure out the amount of herb or spice to give your dog, take the weight of your dog and divide it by the weight of an average person, which is 150 pounds. For example, if your dog weighs 30 pounds, the formula is 30 divided 150, that is 20 percent of the adult dose on the recommended your dog receives.
Warning

Do not give dogs onions since they are toxic. Most dogs will not eat an onion by itself, but if it is mixed with something else, it is possible it could be consumed by accident.
