Funeral Homes Provide Obituary Services

It can be difficult dealing with everything that needs to be accomplished after a death occurs in the family. Providing an obituary report can be a quick process if you know what information the funeral home wants ahead of time.

  1. Deceased Information

    • Provide information about the deceased such as full name, age and address. Include time and date of death, when and where the deceased was born, and where and how the person died.

    Parents and Spouse

    • Give important information about the deceased person's parents and spouse, including names, whether they are still living and where they reside.

    Survivors

    • Provide names, spouse's names and places of residence for the survivors of the deceased. Include information for the person's children and siblings. Add the number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren that the deceased had. Account for deceased relatives.

    Activities

    • Add information about the activities that were important to the deceased. Service ranks and terms, the deceased's occupation and important memberships or volunteer activities are some examples.

    Other Information

    • Add funeral and wake information, and include a photograph of the deceased. Provide any other information that you feel may be important or relevant as it relates to the deceased.
