Veramyst Nasal Spray treats seasonal and continuous allergies in adults and children over 2 years old. Doses of Veramyst are delivered through a precisely measured mist. Veramyst does have some side effects.

  1. Veramyst

    • GlaxoSmithKline developed Veramyst. It has been available since the summer of 2007. Veramyst is also known as fluticasone furoate, which belongs to the corticosteroid class of drugs.

    Side Effects

    • According to the Food and Drug Administration, adverse reactions to Veramyst include headache, epistaxis, pharyngolaryngeal pain, nasal ulceration, back pain, pyrexia and cough. As with all medications, caution should also be exercised to avoid drug interaction.

    Impact on Healing

    • Patients who have any nasal surgery, ulcers or trauma should not use Veramyst until healed completely. Prolonged users of Veramyst should also be monitored for development of cataracts or glaucoma.

    • The Veramyst atomizer is designed to deliver precise dosages of the drug. The design of the bottle allows patients to see the volume of medication remaining.
