Pain in the chest and in the joints around the chest can be caused by caffeine, according to the Mayo Clinic. Many people mistake this pain for a heart attack. Any chest pain should be immediately addressed and treated.
Drug Interactions

Caffeine can interfere with or reduce the effectiveness of some joint pain medications. The National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society website reported diminished relief from some rheumatoid arthritis drugs with caffeine intake.
