Nutritious Meal

Blood-sugar levels need to be monitored, if for some reason, a blood-glucose test is taken and the blood-sugar level is shown to have spiked. Spiked blood-sugar levels are no laughing matter and must be brought down to an acceptable level.

  1. U.S. Standards

    • The normal level for blood sugar in the United States in any person, diabetic or nondiabetic, is 70 to 100mg/dl.

    Canadian Standards

    • In Canada, the system for measuring blood sugar levels is different. The unit of measure is different and so are the standard numbers for normalcy. Normal blood sugar levels for Canada are 4 to 7mmol/l.

    How to Maintain Normalcy

    • A way for a nondiabetic person to keep her blood-sugar level normal is, primarily, to avoid consuming large amounts of sugary food.

    High Blood Sugar Mimics Drunkenness

    • Spiked blood sugar levels make a person mimic the behavior of an alcoholic. Eat sweets in moderation and stay away from alcohol as much as possible.

    Carbohydrates Are Sugar, Too

    • Make a note of your carbohydrate intake. Balance or replace carbohydrates in your diet with foods rich in fiber and protein.
