What Is the Drug Called Tramodol?
Tramadol, also known by the brand name Ultram, is a narcotic-like pain reliever. Tramadol is commonly prescribed to treat moderate to severe pain. It is available in single-dose or extended 24-hour dose form.

Tramadol can be used to treat acute pain with the single dose form that you take every four to six hours as needed. Tramadol is also prescribed in the extended-release form to treat severe chronic pain around the clock as a 24-hour time-released pill.

Tramadol is prescribed under the name Ultram. Ultram is dispensed in tablet form. Ultram is capsule-shaped and coated. The tablets are imprinted on one side as ULTRAM. The reverse side will depend on the strength.

Common side effects when taking tramadol may include drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, nausea, vomiting, constipation, loss of appetite, flushing, insomnia and blurred vision.

Tramadol should be used as prescribed by your physician. Tramadol can be habit-forming. You should not take more than 300 mg in a 24-hour period.
Warning

According to the Federal Drug Administration, tramadol products have a serious potential for seizures and serotonin syndrome. These risks increase significantly with the accompanying use of SSRI and tricyclic antidepressants and other opioids use.
