Reiki as an effective way to combat depression may be dismissed by traditional practitioners of modern medicine. But, more depressed people are beginning to seek the healing effects that they believe reiki provides.

  1. Relaxation

    • Relaxation in itself is a very good way of dealing with depression. Typically there is a great deal of anxiety associated with depression. Simply learning to relax can help to relieve that anxiety, thus helping to relieve some of the symptoms of depression.

    Energy

    • Learning how to control your own energy is also taught in reiki. By being able to shed unwanted negative energy, you may start to feel better.

    Chi Flow

    • In reiki, learning how to control your chi (energy) flow throughout the body's chakra points (energy centers) can help you to be able to target specific chakras which can aid you in self-healing.

    Stress

    • Another main component of depression is stress. Using reiki to relax and channel energy will greatly help to reduce that troublesome stress.

    Fatigue

    • Through the use of reiki techniques, you can gain the ability to combat fatigue. Finding relief from stress and other factors can help you feel more invigorated and have a better sense of well-being.
