Exercises to Strengthen Back Muscles & Alleviate Pain
As we get older our bodies begin to age, and physical ailments come to the fore. One of the most common problems that can affect people of all ages is back pain. With regular exercise, however, most aches and pains can be alleviated.

Warm Up

Always warm up before starting any kind of stretching or exercise. A simple five minutes of walking or riding an exercise bike will be sufficient enough.
Stretching

Back stretching exercises are a great way to alleviate back pain and can be performed at home as well as at a gym. Be careful to make sure you are stretching correctly to avoid further injury.

Swimming

Swimming is the best form of exercise for back pain. Low-impact exercise is the best form of exercise for back pain sufferers, and swimming is the ultimate low-impact sport. It enables you to strengthen your back without any undue stress upon your spine.
Weight Training

Use low weights and simple pull downs. Using a low weight, simple pull downs on a lateral training machine increases the development of muscles on either side of the spine, helping to strengthen your lower back and relieve back pain. Perform this simple exercise slowly to prevent further injury.
Core Strength Exercise

Exercise balls can be used to strengthen your core. Core body exercises are designed to help strengthen both the upper and lower back. Exercise balls can be incorporated into the training, and each exercise is aimed at specific parts of the back.
